Life Skills Training

"You Can't Always Control the Wind ...but You Can Control Your Sails" ...' John Rohn'

To develop into well-functioning adults, youth must learn critical life skills such as critical and creative thinking, decision-making, effective communication, and skills for developing healthy relationships and positive self-concepts.

Life skills training empowers people to make responsible and informed decisions that promote healthy and successful professional and personal lifestyles by providing them with the social and interpersonal skills needed to deal with the demands of daily life. The goals of this training are to increase self-confidence, promote critical thinking, foster independence, and assist people in communicating more effectively.

What to expect

We use the World Health Organization's (WHO) definition of life skills:
"Life skills are abilities that help us to adapt and behave positively so that we can deal effectively with the challenges of everyday life."
Life skills are those competencies that provide the means for an individual to be resourceful and positive while handling whatever life throws at you. This course is geared towards the development of one's personality through self awareness, connecting with others, reflecting on the abstract and the concrete, leading and generating change, and staying rooted in time-tested values and principles. This course is also designed to maximize the potential and enhance the employability of our graduates by introducing them to the principles that lead to personal and professional success, and the skills needed to apply these principles in their lives and careers daily.
